Brownfields Public Record
The Brownfields Public Record contains documentation for response actions at all of the contaminated sites within the Kawerak region. Response actions are assessment and clean-up activities taken to prevent or minimize the release of hazardous substances so that they do not endanger human health or the environment. Click on any site name below for detailed information. If you would like to report a potential brownfield site, please fill out an inventory survey form.

(W) denotes sites identified through the Waste Erosion Assessment and Review (WEAR) project which was a grant-funded Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation project from 2012-2015 that documented areas of potential contamination along Alaska's western coast.
(CS) denotes sites that are listed on the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation Contaminated Sites Database.
